Networking Skills Reinforcement

Welcome to the Networking Skills Reinforcement training! This course is intended to address and reemphasize the importance of networking in our day-to-day activities, and enable you to learn new skills and improve upon the tactics used during networking. Please note that these are foundational concepts and are not intended to serve as training for advanced business development skills. All topics within the training are relevant for each Kenway employee’s unique career path.

The course consists of 11 lessons that you will complete one by one, and below is a summary of all:

  1. Why is Networking so important? Reemphasize Networking expectations for the employee, and the importance of Networking not only for Kenway but for the individual
  2. Strategic Networking Concepts The common role-players in an organization and how they relate to Kenway: Central Connectors, Information Brokers, and Boundary Spanners
  3. Networking vs. Business Development How is Networking (Relationship Building) different from BD? What are the goals of one vs the other? 
  4. Types of Networking Nurturing & Growing your network, as well as Operational, Strategic, and Personal Networking
  5. AGILE Networking Authenticity, Generosity, Intentionality, Leadership, and Enthusiasm in Networking
  6. Managing your Network Start with identifying the “who” from your network that makes sense to connect with, for what purpose, and how often
  7. The Networking Plan How to create a strong, purposeful Networking Plan that helps to hold you accountable
  8. LinkedIn Basics Tips and recommendations to connect with new contacts and how to reach out to them. Introduce employees to the Kenway LinkedIn Power BI app
  9. The introductory email How to approach a potential prospect to introduce Kenway and request an initial conversation
  10. BD Wiki Kenway value drivers, differentiators, and the Elevator pitch
  11. Measures of Success. What are critical tactics and goals you can communicate to your Career Counselor, BD Team, etc. to help hold yourself accountable
